CARMEN'S KARMA

CARMEN’S KARMA is not a jazz adaptation of classical music — it is a new jazz repertoire born from it. Inspired by the music of Debussy, Ravel, Beethoven, Dvořák, Schubert and Enescu, Ramona Horvath uses classical themes, harmonies and musical ideas as raw material for both original compositions and imaginative arrangements.

Classical works are transformed rather than simply transposed: melodies become new themes, harmonic ideas open unexpected paths, and familiar musical gestures evolve through swing, improvisation and rhythmic freedom. The result is a highly personal dialogue between two musical worlds, where the richness of the classical tradition becomes a springboard for contemporary jazz creation.

Lyrical, sophisticated and full of energy, CARMEN’S KARMA offers audiences the pleasure of recognition alongside the surprise of discovery — and gives musicians a generous space for improvisation, interaction and spontaneous invention.

With her classical training and deep roots in jazz, Ramona Horvath is equally at home in concert halls and jazz venues, making CARMEN’S KARMA a natural fit for both classical and jazz programming.
